Experts discuss issues of sports medicine
The 19th edition of the International Scientific Conference on the Current State and Development Prospects of the Elite Sports Medicine – SportMed 2024 – has opened within Russian Healthcare Week 2024.
The event is organised by the Russian Ministry of Health, the Russian Ministry of Sports, the Federal Medical and Biological Agency, the Russian Association for Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation of Patients and the Disabled (RASMIBRI), Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, the Federal Research and Clinical Centre of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation FMBA Russia, and EXPOCENTRE AO.
The official opening of the conference was attended by Russian State Duma Deputy Mikhail Kizeev, Russian Deputy Minister of Health Andrey Plutnitsky, Russian Deputy Minister of Sport Alexey Morozov, Deputy Head at the Sports Medicine Management Department of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency Igor Vykhodets, General Director at the Association of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency RUSADA Veronika Loginova, and others.
During two days, the participants will discuss development of sports medicine in the Russian regions, sports cardiology, traumatology and orthopaedics, psychology, etc. They will also learn about the best rehabilitation practices, the basic principles of rehabilitation management in sports, and many other topics related to sports medicine.
